Delete Your Account in the App
You can delete your account directly in the Whyze app:
Profile / Settings → Delete account
What Happens Immediately
When you request account deletion:
- Your account is locked immediately
- Push notifications and device tokens are removed
- You receive a one-time recovery code
- You have 15 days to cancel deletion using your recovery code
15-Day Recovery Period
If you change your mind, you can cancel the deletion within 15 days by using your recovery code. After 15 days, the deletion becomes permanent and cannot be reversed.
What Happens After 15 Days
After the 15-day grace period, your account data is permanently deleted from Whyze systems:
- Your app account is deleted
- Your authentication account is deleted
- Your user-owned app state is deleted
- Non-public questions you created are removed
- Published questions you created may remain visible but are detached from your deleted account
- Your answers may remain only as anonymous aggregate statistics and are no longer linked to your deleted account
Data That Is Deleted
- Your account profile and settings
- Your authentication credentials
- Your device tokens and push notification preferences
- Your favorites and hidden content
- Your user-selected topics and preferences
- Your tokens, streaks, and achievements
- Your purchase history and subscription status
- Non-public questions you created
- Your personal reports and moderation history
Data That May Remain in Anonymized or Aggregate Form
Some data may be retained after deletion for legitimate purposes:
- Published questions you created may remain visible but are detached from your account
- Your answers may remain as anonymous aggregate statistics without any link to your identity
- Moderation history may be retained for safety and compliance purposes, with user references anonymized where possible
- Analytics and activity logs may be retained in anonymized form for product improvement
